Mission Statement: To stimulate growth in media literacy education in the United States by organizing and providing national leadership, advocacy, networking, and information exchange.

Organizational Background/Description
The AMLA is committed to promoting media literacy education that is focused on critical inquiry, learning, and skill-building rather than on media-bashing and blame. This national, grassroots membership organization will be a key force in bringing media literacy education to all 60 million students in the United States, their parents, their teachers, and others who care about youth.

Goals:
To help all people to be able to critically analyze and create messages using the wide variety of technological tools now available in and out of school.
