Mission Statement
The mission of the NFBPA is embodied in the organization's commitment to strengthen the position of Blacks within the field of public administration; to increase the number of Blacks appointed to executive positions in public service organizations; and, to groom and prepare younger, aspiring administrators for senior public management posts in the years ahead.

Organizational Background/Description
Black city and county managers and assistant managers; chief administrative officers; agency directors; bureau and division heads; corporate executives; students.  Works to promote, strengthen, and expand the role of blacks in public administration.  Seeks to focus the influence of black administrators toward building and maintaining viable communities.  Develops specialized training programs for mangers and executives.  Provides national public administrative leadership resource and skills bank.  Works to further communication among black public, private, and academic institutions.  Addresses issues that affect the administrative capacity of black managers.  Maintains Executive Leadership Institute which grooms mid-level executives for higher positions in government, the Mentor Program which matches aspiring black managers with seasoned executives over an 8-month period.
