Mission Statement
The National Hispanic Council on Aging is dedicated to improving the quality of life for Latino elderly, families, and communities through advocacy, capacity and institution building, development of educational materials, technical assistance, demonstration projects, policy analysis and research.

Organizational Background/Description

NHCoA was founded in 1980 in Washington, DC as a national membership-based organization. It keeps members informed about issues critical to Latino seniors, especially those pertaining to health, income, education, employment, housing, strengthening of families, and building communities. NHCoA participates in national and local coalitions, task forces, and committees that address these issues and their impact on Latino seniors and collaborates with its local chapters and affiliates to demonstrate programs and approaches to this population.
