Organizational Background/Description
NSBA is the nationwide advocacy and outreach organization for public school governance.  It carries out its mission through a united effort with state school boards associations who are its Federation Members.  For education leaders of all titles, ITTE sponsors meetings and the annual Technology + Learning Conference and publishes books, Electronic School magazine, and Technology Leadership News newsletter.  Its Leadership Network includes over 400 school districts in the U.S., Canada, and England.

Information Literacy Goals, Areas of Interest, Publications, Standards, etc.

ITTE recognizes the effective application of technology as an essential component to making schools more productive and to enabling teachers and students to access and use information appropriately.  To encourage well-conceived planning and implementation of technology in schools, it helps education leaders and technology experts network and share their experiences and insights through meetings, its Technology + Learning Conference, and publications.  Recent book titles include Investing in School Technology: Strategies to Meet the Funding Challenge, School Leader’s Version; Leadership & Technology:  What School Board Members Need to Know; and Plans & Policies for Technology in Education: A Compendium.  Tables of contents are available at the ITTE Web site.  ITTE and NSBA also inform education policy makers about schools’ needs for technology.
