Mission Statement:

Seton Hill is a Catholic university rooted in Judeo-Christian values. In the tradition of Elizabeth Ann Seton we educate students to think and act critically, creatively, and ethically as productive members of society committed to transforming the world.

Organization Background/Description:

Founded by the Sisters of Charity and chartered in 1918 by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the University is an academic have for serious students, for those who care about their lives and about their life’s work. The University focuses on career growth and potential under rigorous academic standards and remains today a place where as one graduate said, "students learn to discipline their minds, appreciate their bodies, rejoice in heart, and soar in spirit."

Students in the traditional undergraduate program at Seton Hill come from 35 states and 17 foreign countries. Seton Hill students are diverse, with 14% belonging to minority groups.

Seton Hill officially became a university on July 1, 2002. The transition from College to University status is the culmination of more than a decade of embracing change, expansion, and growth. The change to university status reflects the continuous improvement in the quality, breadth, and depth of Seton Hill’s academic program, expanded undergraduate programs of the highest quality, distinctive graduate and professional programs, and a commitment to national and international outreach.
