Mission Statement: The mission of the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (ODPHP) is to provide leadership for disease prevention and health promotion among Americans. ODPHP undertakes this mandate through the formulation of national health goals and objectives; the coordination of the Department of Health and Human Services activities in disease prevention, health promotion, preventive health services, and health information and education with respect to the appropriate use of health care; and the stimulation of public and private programs and strategies to enhance the health of the Nation.
